Medical Micro Needling
Treatment Performed By - Dr Rehanna Beckhurst (GDC)
Medical Micro-needling is a skin rejuvenation/collagen induction treatment that uses the body’s own ability to repair itself. It is done by dermapen or dermaroller - small needles that create puncture wounds in the skin, this then will activate the body’s natural ability to heal wounds and encourages the renewal of skin cells and the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.
Micro-needling can significantly improve the appearance of:
Reduces wrinkles and fine lines
Improves appearance of scars
Décolletage
Aged and sun damages skin
Prevents signs of aging
Rejuvenation of hands
Reduces appearance of stretch marks
After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
At ifab, Dr Rehanna is proud to use medical grade dermaroller for best possible results.
Common Questions
Does It Hurt? Your clinician can apply topical anaesthetic for 40 minutes prior to procedure to deeply numb the skin, during this time you can relax, read or work on your phone/tablet.
How Long Does The Treatment Take? Approximately 30 minutes not including the numbing.
How Safe Is It? We use medical grade dermaroller, which should only be used by appropriately trained medical practitioner with a good knowledge of facial anatomy. All Products used are supplied from approved pharmacies, traceable back to the manufacture and are all FDA approved.
How Long Can the Results Last? This treatment does not expire, however, due to continuous skin ageing process maintenance every 6 months is advisable in order to keep up the collagen production, however, this is depending on the individual’s life style, metabolic rate, sun exposure etc.
What To Expect After Your Treatment? As this is a minimally invasive treatment, there are minor chances of bruising and swelling. This will be explained in depth during your consultation.
Do I Need A Consultation? All new patients require a full consultation at least 24 hours prior to any anti-wrinkle injection treatment.
