Anti-wrinkle injections are muscle relaxing injections, used to soften wrinkles created by repeating muscle contractions (i.e. frown lines, smile lines etc).

For that purpose, Botulinum toxin Type A (commonly known as Botox) is injected into targeted muscles. As any other Prescription Only Medicine, Botulinum Toxin is safe, as long as applied in correct doses into specifically targeted muscles, by appropriately trained medical practitioner with a good knowledge of facial anatomy.

Once injected, it will take up to two weeks to for the product to relax the muscles and soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

As well as wrinkle reduction, Botulinum Toxin is used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), teeth grinding and clenching and headaches.

Does It Hurt? Normally the procedure is perfectly manageable, however, your clinician can apply topical anaesthetic if required.

How Long Does The Treatment Take? Approximately 20-30 minutes

How Safe Is It? Prescription Only Medicine, Botulinum Toxin is safe, as long as applied in correct doses into specifically targeted muscles, by appropriately trained medical practitioner with a good knowledge of facial anatomy. How Long Can The Results Last? Typically lasts around 3 months, however, this is depending on the individual’s life style, metabolic rate, sun exposure etc.

What To Expect After Your Treatment? As this is an injectable treatment, there are minor chances of bruising and swelling. This will be explained in depth during your consultation.

Do I Need A Consultation? All new patients require a full consultation at least 24 hours prior to any anti-wrinkle injection treatment.
